Atypical Barcelona is the CultRuta brand for International clients.

CultRuta was launched in 2008 by Joan Coll, an entrepreneur specially interested in spreading Barcelona’s literature, history and culture in general among locals through cultural walking tours. During its more than 6 years of success and growth, many loyal clients started to request special tours for visitors. So we came up designing tailor-made tours, not as thematic as the regular CultRuta ones, but with the same level of passion, cultural knowledge and accuracy. In 2014 we finally decided to give this years of experience a new brand with an easier and clarifying name: Atypical Barcelona, since our goal is to show items out of the beaten path, mainly to second and third time visitors to the city, and take them to the rest of Catalonia as well. We are really confident you will enjoy our proposal… and please, feel free to request any other special wish or idea you might came up to.

We have some experience, but we are also convinced that the best way to keep improving our project is by listening to our clients.

We don’t have a closed group of tour guides, but a more than 30 freelance tour guides agenda, all of them properly trained and personally agreed in our procedures. Depending on their skills, availability and language knowledge, we will choose the best one for each service you might request.
